Völkerball Reviews: Volkerball - Rammstein 2009-04-19 - I absolutely recommend this DVD to anyone who likes hard rock. This is a German band and they sing in German. There are no sub-titles so be forewarned. This package also includes a bonus DVD and a CD of the concert. The bands show is fast paced and rocks hard the whole time. I wish I had been exposed to them sooner. I would love to attend one of their shows and am hoping they will tour again.
I love it!!! 2009-04-13 - I love this DVD-Release. For me who is a big Rammsteinfan this is like christmas all over again. One of the best livebands in the world, and no one does a stageshow like this band :)
my new millenium Rammstein show-disk 2009-03-24 - I just reviewed the Live Aus Berlin DVD. I consider that one to be my old millenium Rammstein show-disk and this one to be my new millenium Rammstein show-disk. An interesting difference between the two: at the Berlin show the boys wore silver makeup, which was eerie. For this show the boys wear splotches of black makeup. Flake Lorenz, the keyboardist, revealed that the makeup is made from coffee (the only odor the band members could jointly agree to tolerating). The songs Morgenstern, Stein um Stein and Los were all new to me. Morgenstern is exquisitely beautiful and is now a favorite of mine. Stein um Stein has a possible problem: at one vocal entry Till Lindemann seems to be struggling to reach his pitches. But I can't be sure: the song starts out with very strange intonations on guitars, so maybe it isn't a mistake after all. I shall need to find a studio version. Los is quite bluesy and Till even blows some harp. It works well as a contrast on a Rammstein play list. I hate the way Flake concludes his solo on this song by bashing his keyboard to bits. Stunts like that looked dumb to me back in the days when Pete Townsend bashed guitars on stage, and that still looks dumb to me. There are young startup bands who can scarcely afford to have even one full keyboard. The song Los does need an event to bring it to an end, but I wish they had chosen something else. Anyway, I just close my eyes for that instance. This show ends with the marvelous Stripped song. Ollie the bassist ventures out onto the crowd in a rubber raft. For an extro soundtrack a female choral version of the refrain from Engel is played. Very nice.
Just...Excellent!!! 2008-09-30 - All i can say is that if you are a Rammstein fan, you can't think twice...Buy Volkerball 'cause it's excellent! a whole complete dvd about this great group, concerts and interviews, they only problem i have is that i wish to be there! at least at Les Arenas de Nimes! what a concert man!!! Gott! great dvd! i recommend it! ;)
Great! 2008-09-27 - This was my first Rammstien video experience and it was spectacular! 5.1 format was ok, could be better, but just from watching you could almost feel the energy in the air as if you were there. It is well worth having in your DVD collection, and I would recommend any fan to acquire this DVD!
